Rebecca Lorna: Folk, Singer-Songwriter
Hailing from the rugged and beautiful Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Rebecca Lorna is a singer-songwriter whose music blends the heartfelt storytelling of folk, the soulful roots of Americana, and the timeless charm of classic country. With a voice that feels both familiar and brand new, Rebecca creates songs that resonate with listeners on a deep, emotional level, evoking a sense of nostalgia while speaking to universal themes of love, loss, and the human experience.
Drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of her coastal home, Rebecca's music carries the raw, windswept energy of the West Coast while also nodding to the rich traditions of Americana and country music. Her influences are as wide as they are iconic—artists like Emmylou Harris, Gillian Welch, Lucinda Williams, and Townes Van Zandt have shaped her sound, yet Rebecca’s voice and songwriting stand entirely on their own.
Her music is a seamless blend of acoustic-driven folk and the understated elegance of classic country, with haunting melodies and lyrics that are at once poetic and direct. Rebecca's songs are deeply personal yet have a timeless quality, capturing moments of reflection, heartbreak, and resilience that feel as though they could belong to any generation. Whether it’s the plaintive ache of a slow ballad or the steady rhythm of an upbeat honky-tonk tune, her songs are always grounded in an emotional honesty that feels both intimate and universal.
